What Is the TurtolCMS?
The TurtolCMS is a Web-based Web Content Management System and Application Framework. Wow, so many big words! Let's break that down.
- To start with, Web Content is just what you're looking at now. The text, images, videos, colors, styles, fonts and so on which make up your web site.
- It's a Management System because it helps you to manage your web content, and it provides you a simple but powerful way to organize your web content.
- An Application Framework gives you an easy way to add functionality, such as feedback forms, newsletters, blogs, forums and e-commerce, to your web site. And it lets you build you own applications, as well. (That part is a little bit harder, but we're making it easier every day.)
- It's Web-based, meaning it works entirely within your web browser. You won't need to install any software on your computer to use it. (You will need to use FireFox or Netscape to edit your site, at present. We'll remove that restriction in the near future.)
