calendar tweaks

Description

So I was thinking about some minor adjustments that could enhance the calendar feature. I have been messing with the calendar for some time now and noticed that when you click on the 'start date' and then you the 'end date' the calendar does not disappear, it just floats over the cms tool area. Also, if you click on 'end date' first, before 'start date' the calendar does disappear.

Something else I wanted to suggest was having 'No' selected for registering for an event. Currently, both options are unselected, and I think that by having the 'No' option selected, users who are inputting events do not have to worry about selecting an option right away, and this feeds right into another suggestion. Having a star next to all the events you CAN register for. So when I am a visitor to this site, I can see all the events that I can or cannot register for without clicking on any of the events.

And my final suggestion is to give the ability to delete an event straight from the calendar without going into the cms tool bar. Adding a simple [X] next to each event when logged in can do something like that. Maybe adding a [edit] option as well, instead of going into each event. Makes things more interactive and allows for less clicking.

Suggestion Recap:

  • Fix mini calendar float issue
  • Have 'No' selected for event registration
  • Add '*' next to all events users can register for
  • Add 'X' and 'edit' next to each event when logged in
